What a wonderful place to meet!

So many of my female friends and relatives look at me helplessly as I talk about the joys of my Blackberry or what great things are coming down the pike in green technology and vehicles. Here is a place where I can talk to other women who have tech savvy and I won't feel like I'm speaking Greek or sounding like a badly written Japanese instruction manual!

Where did the idea for Strong Women in Tech come from?

It came from a podcast called Topics on Fire during a two part episode on the gender gap and technology/new media. The first episode has strong men and women hashing out and defining the issues themselves from both sides of the fence. In the second episode the women from part one of the discussion returned with a goal: to create some kind of real world solution for the problems surrounding the issue of gender in technology and new media.
